    Toyota August 2016 Sales Overview

    Toyota reported August 2016 sales of 213,125 vehicles, down 5.0 percent from 224,381 vehicles sold in August 2015.

    YTD sales of 1,625,158 are down 2.9 percent from the 1,673,002 sold through the same period of 2015.

    Toyota on its own achieved August sales of 182,187 vehicles, down 4.6 percent from the 190,894 sold in August of 2015.

    Lexus posted August sales of 30,938 vehicles, down 7.6 percent from the 33,487 sold during August of 2015.

    August belongs to the RAV4. Sales reached 33,171 vehicles, up 8.6 percent over the 30,534 sold during August of 2015. YTD sales of 230,942 vehicles is up an even more impressive 15.0 percent over the 200,818 sold through the same period of 2015.

    In August, Ford’s U.S. market share was down a significant 0.7 percent.

    Subaru on the other hand experienced an uptick of 0.7 percent thanks to their blowout August results shown below.

    On a volume basis, August of 2016 US Auto sales of 1.51 million vehicles down a rather steep 3.8 percent below August of 2015s 1.57 million vehicle sales result.

    2016 YTD sales of 11.2 million is up 0.3 percent above the 11.58 million vehicles sold through the same period of 2015.

    In August, Toyota moved within 1,357 vehicles of overtaking Ford for the 2nd position. The Juggernaut called Subaru overtook Kia and has now placed Hyundai clearly in its gun sights.

    The seasonally adjusted annual selling rate (SAAR) for light vehicles in August was 17.2 million vehicles. On a YTD sales basis, light-vehicle SAAR was 17.3 million vehicles.

    Hi Wayne,
    I can't find a way to start a thread on my Mac with Safari only reply to someone else. I just bought a 2015 Sienna XLE MiniVan and wanted to give my review. I'm getting 29mpg at 60 mph with this big land yacht.

    Toyota Canada August 2016 Sales Up 1.9% with 18,631 Vehicles Sold

    [​IMG] Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) August sales of 18,631 were up 1.9 percent compared to August of 2015. The Toyota division (including Scion) recorded sales of 16,659 units in August, up 1.8 percent compared to 2015, while the Lexus division recorded total sales of 1,972 units, up 2.1 percent compared to last year.

    Hybrid sales up 38.5 Percent!

    TCI hybrid sales of 1,685 set an August record, up 38.5 percent year-over-year. Led by the Toyota Prius, Toyota brand vehicles are up 51.2 percent compared to last year, with 1,559 vehicles sold. Hybrid vehicles represented 9 percent of TCI’s total sales for the month.

    Following a record July, TCI’s August truck sales of 11,179 set a new record for the 20th straight month, up 11.2 percent compared to August of last year. Led by the RAV4 and Highlander, it was an August record for Toyota brand trucks, with 9,822 trucks sold, up 11.5 percent compared to August of 2015. Lexus brand trucks also set an August record with 1,357 vehicles sold, up 9.1 percent compared to August of 2015.

    Toyota Prius sales of 288 vehicles was up 126.8 percent.
