    The national average gas price is down again this week, down 2.6¢ to $2.208 - it's now 55.1¢ cheaper than this time last year.
    Diesel is down 1.2¢ at $2.354 now at a 6.6% premium to gas but still 45¢ cheaper than this time last year.

    No commute for me - car pooler's turn :D

    Thanks for starting this today. 70 deg F , wind = WSW3. 34.9 miles , 72.5 (67.42) MPG. Tank is now at 228.4 miles , 69.5(64.63) MPG. This weekend's driving into the city was brutal on the tank I started Saturday morning. I was able to bring it up a bit with a 70 mile drive on Sunday , but still , considering the perfect weather , this tank is weak.

    I spent the weekend driving, but it was on the ATV with a brush hog mower behind me. I got about 5 acres of field mowed down, used about 5 gallons of gas. We have some pesky weeds coming up and they're flowering, so mowing it now before they seed will greatly reduce them next year. Nobody eats these weeds, not even goats. (goat weed / wooly croton)

    53.5 / 5.3 - to grocery this morning, bought a week of lunches
    76.4 / 2.3 - work

    Tank is at 49.1 / 437 mi, just above 1/4.

    Today , 68 deg F , no wind. 34.9 miles , 74.2(69.01) MPG. Tank is at 299.0 miles , 71.3(66.31) MPG. It's getting a little better. But there was a huge amount of frivolous driving Saturday and Sunday. In the city , running A/C continuously ( to keep Her happy ) , the state-of-charge went down to two bars. I predict this tank will last barely 7 days.
    Thank God and Greyhound she's gone.

    I ran home at lunch to meet the fence crew and inspect the work and pay them. I now have a full perimeter fence of 4' mesh wire, now I can think about putting some baby beefs out there.

    HOT
    52.0 / 6.7 - home with a little extra to look at the fence along the street
    64.0 / 5.7 - back to work

    Tank is up nicely, +0.3 to 49.5 / 471 mi.

    52. / 5.9 home
    65.4 / 5.9 work this morning. Car started at 85F, even though ambient was 77 degrees. I blame the west-facing sun-heated driveway. Unfortunately this only works in summer; in winter it's as cold as anything else. :rolleyes:

    Tank +0.2 to 49.7 / 483 mi.

    Last night I had a missions meeting at the church building so:
    to dinner - 63.5 / 7.5 miles (93F h.i.@103F with winds from S@10) coolant started at 101F from the parking lot. (FCD = 61.4 (+0.1))
    to building - 31.3 / 0.8 mile
    home - 64.9 / 6.6 miles (droped to 87F h.i.@97F winds from SSE@7)
    FCD = 61.4

    this morning with coolant started at 85F as well Pale.
    - 58.4 / 13.1 miles (78F heat index was already 83F, with winds S@8)
    FCD = 61.4 (=)

    tank:
    5.61 gals converted
    327.7 miles

    Usually , when I take the scenic route home, it involves one or more stops. Every time you stop ( and turn the car OFF) , it takes a hit. Not coolant temp so much; it holds onto that for a long-ish time in this weather. But It could take 1.0-1.5 miles before I can get full glide capability. Yesterday , I took the scenic route straight home, no stops. 33.6 miles , 83.2(77.38) MPG. AND when I got home , there 7 bars of charge ( 6 is normal). Today , probably the warmest morning of the year at 73.5. deg F. A favourable wind (SSW6) helped me to do the 34.9 miles at 74.8(69.56) MPG. That may be a PR , not sure. Doesn't matter. Tank is at 437.3 miles ,72.9(67.80) MPG.
    We , and probably the rest of the country , are gonna have some warm weather the next few days.

    dinner to church building - 40.1 / 1.4 miles (FCD = 61.3 (-0.2) :eek:
    home - 54.1 / 6.6 miles (90F h.i.@101F winds sill S@10) FCD 61.3

    this morning:
    58.9 / 13.1 miles (78F h.i.@84F already with SSE@4 winds)
    FCD = 61.3 (=)

    Tank:

    That is a lot of 6's Pale.
    Edwin, I hope you don't mind us sharing Summer with you ;).

    last night: another muggy hot one in the car. Just start some smoke in there and you could cook some good BBQ, long and slow, mmmmmm.
    - 68.0 / 13.0 miles (93F h.i.103F, S@12 headwinds)
    FCD = 61.5 (+0.2) it was taking forever to get back up to 61.5 after those short trips shoot the numbers down over the past couple of days.

    this morning (forgot to turn the ACC back on for a block so I am missing about 0.1 miles and a few MPG.:oops: Only reason why I noticed it was the steering was heavy. With an Electronic power steering on the FIT, it is always light.
    - 54.4 / 12.9 miles (78F S@7)
    FCD = 61.4 (-0.1)

    tank:
    6.54 gals converted
    380.9 miles

    No problem, Jason. I was planning to send some of this up to Canada. Today , hottest morning that I can remember around here. At 5:30 AM , around 80 deg F. No wind. Humidity = dripping. I did turn off the A/C when I left the house today , but I know I won't be home until maybe noon Sunday. Work is pleasant. 34.9 miles , 73.4(68.26) MPG. Had a nice trip to pub and home yesterday: 36.1 miles , 84.0(78.12) MPG. Tank is at 577 miles ( since last Saturday at this time ) , 73.7(68.54) MPG. Maybe I won't need to fill up until Monday.
