TrueCar shows it can be purchased for approximately $21,000 +TTL in the Midwest and East Coast and $22k + on the West Coast. Honda May 2016 Sales Overview Honda reported it sold 147,108 vehicles in May, down 4.8 percent compared to the 154,593 sold in May of 2015. However, with two fewer selling days (24 vs 26 days in May of 2015) , the daily selling rate (DSR) indicates sales were up 3.1 percent over May of 2015. Year to date sales of 653,640 were up 5.7 percent over the 618,604 sold through the same period of 2015. On a DSR basis, YTD sales are up 6.5 percent. Year-to-date Honda brand sales of 585,998 were up 7.1 percent over the 547,044 sold through the same period of 2015. Honda May 2016 Sales Highlights The 10th-generation 2016 Civic continues to own the C-segment with 35,396 vehicles sold, up 2.7 percent and its seventh straight month of year-over-year sales gains. The even more efficient, refreshed and reengineered 2017 Accord Hybrid launches in just a few short weeks. I cannot wait for that one too! On a volume basis, May sales of 1.53 million vehicles was down 6.1 percent below May of 2015s 1.63 million vehicles sold result. On a DSR basis however (24 vs. 26 days), May sales were up 1.7 percent. 2016 YTD sales of 7.08 million is up 0.7 percent ahead of the 7.03 million vehicles sold through the same period of 2015. On a DSR basis (126 vs. 127 days), U.S. 2016 sales were up 1.5 percent. Ford was just 4,453 units off of overtaking GM as the number one OEM in the U.S. sales tally and Mazda was just 451 vehicles from taking over VWs 12th position. The seasonally adjusted annual selling rate (SAAR) for light vehicles in May was approximately 17.0 million vehicles. Calendar-year-to-date, the light vehicle SAAR was 17.2 million vehicles.
Honda Canada achieved sales of 18,753 vehicles, up 4.5 percent over the 17,949 sold during May of 2015. Year to date sales of 72,626 is up 11.3 percent over the 65,245 sold through the same period of 2015. Honda on its own achieved sales of 17,189 vehicles in May, up 8.4 percent over the 15,853 sold in May of 2015 and a best all-time monthly sales record for the brand. Acura had another tough month with sales of 1,564 units, down 25.4 percent versus May of 2015. Honda Canada May Sales Highlights The hot Honda Civic achieved sales of 8,240 vehicles, up 10.4 percent over the 7,467 sold in May of 2015. Year to date sales of 26,961 is up an even more impressive 14.4 percent over the 23,559 sold through the same period of 2015. Canadian Big 6 May 2016 Sales Results FCA – 31,724 vehicles sold in May, up 0.3% Ford – 29,400 vehicles sold in May, up 1.2% GM – 22,939 vehicles sold in May, down 16.4% Toyota – 22,158 vehicles sold in May, down 0.7% Honda – 18,753 vehicles sold in May, up 4.5% Nissan – 13,205 vehicles sold in May, up 1.7% Items of note: FCA regains the Canadian sales lead and Toyota is closing in on GM.
