    FCA May 2016 Sales Overview

    FCA reported May U.S. sales of 204,452 vehicles, up 1.1 percent over the 202,227 sold in May of 2014. This rise came about despite the head wind of 2 fewer selling days in May, (24 vs 26 in May of 2015), with the Daily Selling Rate (DSR) up 9.5 percent.

    Year to date sales of 955,186 vehicles, up 6.5 percent over the 897,108 sold through the same period of 2015. On a daily selling rate, sales were up 7.3 percent.

    Jeep sales were up 14 percent in May for its best monthly sales ever and its 32nd-consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains. The Jeep brand has set a sales record in every month dating back to November 2013.

    Ram Truck sales were up slightly in May for its best May sales since 2005.

    Chrysler saw its all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivan posted sales of 2,495 vehicles in its second month.

    In May, Hyundai and Nissan each picked up 0.5 percent market share while GM took a hit losing 1.6 percent vs. April of 2016.

    On a volume basis, May sales of 1.53 million vehicles was down 6.1 percent below May of 2015s 1.63 million vehicles sold result. On a DSR basis however (24 vs. 26 days), May sales were up 1.7 percent.

    2016 YTD sales of 7.08 million is up 0.7 percent ahead of the 7.03 million vehicles sold through the same period of 2015. On a DSR basis (126 vs. 127 days), U.S. 2016 sales were up 1.5 percent.

    In May, BMW moved back ahead of Mercedes-Benz. Ford was just 4,453 units off of overtaking GM as the number one OEM in the U.S. sales tally and Mazda was just 451 vehicles from taking over VWs 12th position.

    The seasonally adjusted annual selling rate (SAAR) for light vehicles in May was approximately 17.0 million vehicles. Calendar-year-to-date, the light vehicle SAAR was 17.2 million vehicles.

    [​IMG] FCA Canada reported its best monthly sales in the Company’s history and leads the country’s sales results with 31,724 vehicles sold in May of 2016, up 0.3 percent over the 31,617 sold in May of 2015.

    Year to date, FCA Canada also leads the country sales results with 124,663 vehicles sold, up 3.1 percent over the 120,915 sold through the same period of 2015.

    FCA Canada Sales Highlights

    Like the U.S., Jeep posted an all-time monthly sales record with 9,881 vehicles sold, up 3.7 percent over the 9,527 sold in May 2015.

    The Grand Cherokee set another new May sales record with 2,003 vehicles sold, up 40.5 percent over 1,426 sold in May 2015.

    2. Ford – 29,400 vehicles sold in May, up 1.2%
    3. GM – 22,939 vehicles sold in May, down 16.4%
    4. Toyota – 22,158 vehicles sold in May, down 0.7%
    5. Honda – 18,753 vehicles sold in May, up 4.5%
    6. Nissan – 13,205 vehicles sold in May, up 1.7%
    Items of note: FCA regains the Canadian sales lead and Toyota is closing in on GM.
