TrueCar shows it can be purchased for approximately $29,000 +TTL in parts of the East Coast and full boat retail on the West Coast. Toyota May 2016 Sales Overview Earlier today Toyota reported May 2016 sales of 219,339 vehicles, a decrease of 9.6 percent from the 242,579 sold in May of 2015. With 2 fewer selling days (24 vs 26 in May of 2015), the Daily Selling Rate (DSR) was off 2.0 percent. Year to date sales of 999,543 vehicles is off 2.2 percent below the 1,021,528 sold through the same period of 2015. On a DSR basis, YTD sales are off 1.4 percent. Toyota and Lexus achieved May 2016 sales of 192,657 and 26,682 vehicles, down 9.5 and 10.1 percent on a volume basis. On a DSR basis, sales were down 2.0 and 2.6 percent respectively. Toyota May 2016 Sales Highlights The RAV4 achieved a record May result of 32,261 sold, up 12.0 percent over the 28,808 sold in May of 2015. Year to date sales of 138,535 is up 17.6 percent over the 118,732 sold through the same period of 2015. Market Share Detail In May, Hyundai and Nissan each picked up 0.5 percent market share while GM took a hit losing 1.6 percent vs. April of 2016. On a volume basis, May sales of 1.53 million vehicles was down 6.1 percent below May of 2015s 1.63 million vehicles sold result. On a DSR basis however (24 vs. 26 days), May sales were up 1.7 percent. 2016 YTD sales of 7.08 million is up 0.7 percent ahead of the 7.03 million vehicles sold through the same period of 2015. On a DSR basis (126 vs. 127 days), U.S. 2016 sales were up 1.5 percent. Ford was just 4,453 units off of overtaking GM as the number one OEM in the U.S. sales tally and Mazda was just 451 vehicles from taking over VWs 12th position. The seasonally adjusted annual selling rate (SAAR) for light vehicles in May was approximately 17.0 million vehicles. Calendar-year-to-date, the light vehicle SAAR was 17.2 million vehicles.

Toyota Canada (TCI) sold 22,158 Toyota, Scion and Lexus vehicles in May, down 0.7 percent compared to 2015. TCI Truck sales achieved sales of 11,938 vehicles sold, up 6.9 percent. TCI hybrid sales were up 44.5 percent compared to last year, with 1,970 sold, led by Prius family sales of 871 units, up 26 percent. Toyota (including Scion) recorded May sales of 20,119 vehicles, down 0.8 percent compared to 2015. Toyota trucks achieved sales of 10,547 vehicles, up 4.9 percent. Lexus recorded its twentieth consecutive monthly sales record, with 2,039 Lexus luxury cars and SUVs sold in May, up 0.6 percent compared to last year. Lexus luxury SUVs also achieved a record for the month of May with 1,391 sold, up 24.4 percent. Toyota RAV4 achieved sales of 4,870 vehicles sold, up 15 percent and a fourth straight monthly record.
