    The national average gas price has jumped 6¢ to $2.282 - it's now 45.6¢ cheaper than this time last year.
    Diesel is also up 4.5¢ to $2.281, which is 60.3¢ cheaper than this time last year.

    No driving for me this week - car pooler's turn :D:cool:

    Today , 49.5 deg F , no wind. 34.9 miles , 69.2(64.36) MPG. Didn't drive a whole lot Saturday after work and none at all Sunday. But the driving I DID was decent ; enough to raise my tank from 72.6(fcd) Sat AM to 73.3(fcd) Mon AM. Tank is now at 299.0 miles , 73.3(68.17) MPG. We'll be seeing some rain in the next few days, so I don't know if I will have a PR tank , but I'm always on the lookout for one. :)

    Sunday I had a good bike ride. 42 miles ( don't ask the time ! ) , but with a 5-hour rest (?) in between , it was not very hard. Weather was perfect.

    Well 5 years have come and gone since the EF5 tornado ate its path through Joplin MO. Much has been rebuild and many lessons have been learned that JOMO has shared with many other communities that have faces similar disasters. Sunday was a beautiful day.

    Friday:
    - 61.4 / 12.9 miles (66F NNE@6)
    FCD = 58.0 (+0.1)

    This morning - I had to go a slightly different route as the main Summer route was closed for repairs (which is needed badly).
    - 54.1 / 13.0 miles (63F ESE@11)
    FCD = 58.0 (=)

    Tank:
    11.34 gals converted
    623.3 miles
    F_____|_____E (the needle is just about to loose contact with the bottom of the E line) I will fill on the way home.

    When I tested mine all the way to empty, I found it stopped moving right past E. Just a hairline between the needle and the mark, and no more. It's hard to judge emptyness from the needle, just like fullness at the top. Makes me believe it's electronic, back-translated to analog for the gauge.

    Today , 59.5 deg F , wind SSE4. This tank is holding up pretty well , no rain yet. 34.9 miles , 72.7(67.61) MPG. Tank is at 368.6 miles , 73.7(68.54) MPG. The afternoon commutes are propping this tank up , many of them close to or over 80(fcd).
    Tonight , scenic route again. Stopping to mow my friend's lawn ; she's really not able to do it herself these days. Hopefully , will have enough daylight and no rain ! so I can mow my own lawn when I get home.

    Andrew, mine will go beyond E by about 2 needle widths. That is as far has I have taken it. But not as far as the resting location when the car is off.

    last night to gas station with a slight detour as the normal road is undergoing construction.
    - 61.2 / 11.9 miles (67F W@8 with wet roads)
    FCD = 58.1 (+0.1)

    Fill
    11.448 gals (think I got a little more in than the last time)
    634.9 miles
    55.46 MPG (4.24L/100km)

    home:
    - 63.5 / 1.8 miles (had to stop at a light and then also waiting on a public bus wait on someone to drive out of a business so it should pull in)
    FCD = 70.4

    This morning:
    - 55.4 / 13.1 miles (with a detour again, 68F S@13)
    FCD = 60.1 (-10.3)

    tank:
    0.27 gals converted
    14.7 miles

    Today , 65.5 deg F , wind SE4. Doesn't get much nicer than this ! 34.9 miles , 73.5(68.35) MPG. Tank is at 439.1 miles , 74.0 (68.82) MPG. This is looking like my best tank ever , but a lot can happen in the next 250 miles.

    Ended up being too late and too tired to mow my own lawn. Hopefully the weather holds up so OI can do it right after work today , but we are expecting rain.

    I forgot that my street is closed and started home that way. Had to cut across to the other main road, go up, back across, and down to my place from the other side. At least it was a chance to stretch the legs, got 60.0 mpg / 10.1 mi.

    This morning to school and work, 53.3 / 8.2.

    Tank +0.2 to 53.8 / 266.

    Well. They have kept me busy in my new truck. I have been happy to oblige - this truck is seriously that good. Hint: no matter what, I so far have not failed to hit 8mpg anytime in the last 10 days.

    Also have the write-up of my rental Ford Escape ready, just gotta figure out how to insert pictures. Any hints?

    jcp, when you are editing the reply, use the "upload a file" button that's right next to "post reply" button and it will open a dialog for you to select your photos.

    Grrrr. Didn't get home before the storm yesterday , lawn didn't get mowed. Sat in traffic for about ten minutes with A/C running ( part-time) so I could keep windshield de-fogged.Still managed about 77 MPG(fcd) on the trip home. Today , roads ( mostly) dry , temp 66 deg F , wind S8. 34.9 miles , 70.9(65.94) MPG. Tank is at 507.7 miles , 74.0 (68.82) MPG. With a little luck and determination , this could be a 700 mile tank.

    Found a slightly better route home (detour right instead of left). 7.8 mi instead of 10, same 60 mpg.

    Hot and muggy. Car said 92°Fwt leaving work.
    60.0 / 7.8 - home
    52 / 8.2 - school and work. Last day is tomorrow.

    Tank steady 53.8 / 283 mi.

    Got any utilities to scale the photos? on Android: Google photos; on Windows: paintbrush (mspaint.exe) should do the trick; on Linux: gimp perhaps? I don't do Mac or iPhone...

    Or were you trying to upload a huge video file? I suspect Wayne or one of the moderators would have to help with larger stuff.

    There is a White Tesla around here that blows by me on the highway doing 70-75 MPH. Looks cool doing it though.
    Muggy here as well. I guess we are getting your moister upflow here from the Gulf. It is helping fuel these storms.

    last night:
    - 57.4 / 12.9 miles (82F S@14 headwind and muggy. Also, stopped by the same train at two different crossings on the way home :rolleyes:)
    FCD = 58.9 (+0.8)

    this morning:
    - 57.7 / 13.1 miles (75 S@98)
    FCD = 58.9 (=)

    tank:
    1.19 gals converted
    66.0 miles
