The national average gas price has climbed 1.3¢ to $2.222 - it's now 47.7¢ cheaper than this time last year.
Diesel is also up 1.3¢ to $2.236, which is 63.3¢ cheaper than this time last year.

Back to the grind in the Audi this morning, my turn to drive, 2UP, 45°F:
    47.5 / 22.5 (FCD 50.0 :D)

    Tank up 0.2 at 46.6 / 112.5 / Range 550. Guess gauge: F««««|««««E . UG up 0.3 at 49.1 / DTE552 (I think I need to adjust the UG calibration down, last 2 tanks were high.)

Looking at UK Met Office forecast it's not going to be too cold at night (low 47°F) but not that warm in the day (max. 63°F) so hoping for some better numbers this week................

  2. Popped the hood on this Lacrosse. 3.6 v6. Looked up the specs, 18/28 rated. Seems to avg mid to upper 30s cruising at 60 mph. Haven't been able to put the overall avg about 30 yet

Today , 44 deg F , wind S8. 16.2 miles , 73.1 (67.98) MPG. Tank is at 485.1 miles , 69.8 (64.91) MPG. I didn't lose too much MPG over the weekend. Only drove to Cindi's , then out to dinner , then home. Maybe 35 miles total. I will probably be filling Wed morning at around 595 miles. Unless I'm feeling very cocky and decide to go for 655 miles and fill Wednesday afternoon on my way home.

TSC, that's seems a bit overkill for a car that size. That engine and mpg rating are a better fit for a minivan or misdize suv.

54.8 / 8.5 - school and work this morning, light drizzle. (which we need)

    Tank down to 55.9 / 121, right on F.

glad to hear the pup is feeling better.

    Tuesday afternoon going home (late)
    - 61.1 / 12.9 miles (88F SW@8)
    FCD = 58.2 (+0.2)

    Wed-Sunday evening travelling.
    Wed
    - packup Sonta with kids after they get out of school and fillup on the way out of town. 569 miles on the Range
    - Stop at Olive Branch MS for the night.
    Thur
    - Back in car drove to Tuscaloosa AL and check in hotel.
    - On the way back to my Sisters we stopped to fill
Still showed 53 miles left on the Range. (showing 36.9 MPG)
589.4 miles / 16.827 gals (filled more than at the original fill) = 35.0 MPG
New fill range = 581 miles.
    - Drive to dinner then back to hotel
    Friday
    - Drive back to Sisters house
    - Drive to dinner and then out to Nephews Graduation.
    - Drive back to Sisters house
    - Drive back to Hotel.
    Saturday
    - Check out drive to Sisters house to say goodbyes on the way out of town. (78 miles or so drive in town at 29.4 MPG)
    - Drive all day to Ft Smith Ar. (stops here and there) Stay with MIL.
    Sunday
    - Head out and grab breakfast
    - Fill up before leaving (595.0 miles / 15.75 gals = 37.7 MPG) 40 Miles range left (indicated 34.1 MPG). This pump was to quick and didn't want to dribble in the last so I got tired of gas spilling out. So a shorter fill.
    New range = 561
    - Drive to Salom Spings to JBU campus for Graduation of my wife's niece from High school.
    - Drive Home (still 3/4 tank left)
(all driving done at or just below the Posted Speed limit)

Just a little bit of driving over the last few days ;0)

The Sonata's Range will not go up, it will just not go down as quickly as it would normally if you start getting better gas mileage. Disappointing. And silly low light comes on with 45 miles left on the range. But easily 4 gals left in the tank.

    This morning
    - 51.8 / 13.1 miles (52F ESE@5 with wet roads and rain)
    FCD = 58.0 (-0.2)

    Tank:
    9.05 gals converted
    494.9 miles
    F_____|___>**E

Jason. Good to have you back. From my Odyssey perspective that's some good highway mileage. From my civic/fit side, not so much. And yours too I'm sure. But I'm sure it's a more comfortable highway cruiser.

Going home last night there was an accident on the motorway so it was pointless even trying to get to detour #2 so hilly back route was called upon, 57°F. Actually quite pleased to get over 40 as I was crawling uphill at 12mph at one stage:

    42.0 / 20.8

    This morning, 2UP, 46°F:
    47.1 / 22.7

    Tank down 0.7 at 45.9 / 156.0 / Range 500. Guess gauge: F_«««|««««E . UG down 2.1 at 47.0 / DTE479 (UG calibration adjusted)

Lost first pip @ 152 miles (trouncing my best of 137 :D - a great start to this tank! )

Today , 52.5 deg F , wind WSW6 , light drizzle for the last five miles. 34.9 miles , 70.4(65.47) MPG. Tank is at 553.7 miles , 69.9(65.01) MPG. Tonight and tomorrow, scenic route home. Maybe , just maybe , this could be a 700 mile tank. This would be the first.

Thanks Andrew. Yes, it just eats up the long road trips. I usually put it on Cruise and pop the auto stick to 6 so that there is not any shifting when it doesn't need to.

We had a 2003 Honda Accord before (5sp stick 2.4L I4) and we get about the same MPG as we did with the Accord. This one has the 2.4 L DGI I4 as well but with a 6 sp Auto. So we get the same MPG but ended up with a full size car. That helps on the longer trips to give some extra room.

Last day of school for our kids was last Wed as we had no snow days. Youngest is attending Strings camp with her viola.

    last night:
    - 62.1 / 12.9 miles (57F ESE@6 with wet roads and rain) also 1.25 hrs late getting out of work :0\
    FCD = 58.1 (+0.1)

    This morning:
    - 47.4 / 13.1 miles (57F NNE@5 with wet roads and rain)
    FCD = 57.9 (-0.2)

    Tank:
    9.53 gals converted
    520.6 miles
    F_____|___*<*E (just under 2/10 left)

Yesterday, drove to The Columbus Zoo & Aquarium. A lot of the animals were asleep, so I was kind of disappointed. Then went to my mum's house and picked up the remaining things from there.

    224 miles to empty
    43.7 Indicated MPG

    530 Miles Calculated range

That was almost all highway. Around 35 miles or so was city/back-road driving. 138 of it was with the entire back of my car full of stuff, including my bike!

It's a lot more than I normally get on the highway.

Today , 40.5 deg F , no wind. 34.9 miles , 67.3 (62.59) MPG. Tank is at 39.3 miles , 68.1 (63.33). Filled up yesterday on the way home: 655.6 miles , 10.059 gallons = 65.17 MPG. SG = 63.8. I accidentally jiggled the pump as I was stepping over the hose , and I thought that made it shut off prematurely. So , I gave it another shot , which added about a tenth. Fcd = 70.3 , for an almost 8% over-report.

Cooler here as well, down to 60 overnight. I changed the oil in the Odyssey, and checked the Fit. It's slightly overfilled. I wonder how much that's hurting my mpg.

    48.8 / 5.8 - home with a detour to the ATM
    55.0 / 8.2 - school and work

Tank down 0.2 to 54.7 / 177. The needle started moving now, just below F.

Andrew , do you let someone else change your oil ? You KNOW they put their youngest , dumbest "dipstick" on that job , right ? :)
