    Welcome to the grind :D

The national average gas price Is doing a very good impression of a plummeting thing :p it's dropped another 5.6¢ to $1.739.
Gas is 43.6¢ lower than this time last year.
Diesel still hasn't quite managed to break $2, down 2.7¢ at $2.019, 78.7¢ lower than this time last year.
Diesel is an increasing 16.1% higher than regular.

No driving for me, still on vacation until Wednesday then should be car pooler's turn to do the commute again :D

    Today , left from Cindi's house , so fewer chances for suburban P & G. Also , no garage for my car , so a bit of frost-removal was required. 31.4 miles , 60.6 *.93 = 56.36 MPG. 31 deg f , wind WSW 10.

Tank is at 62.2 miles , 59.8 *.93 = 55.61 MPG. It was snowing very lightly on the way in , but roads were clean and dry. It melted as it hit my (relatively) hot windscreen. That's "windshield" for you Yanks.

Warmish 45F here. Kids to school, then to the old house (now rental) to drop something off. Then my old commute to work, warm start. :D

    64.5 / 7.9 - old commute to work

    Tank up a bit to 50.5 / 373, just below 1/2.

Gord, if his car is out of the shop. Hopefully it was so he could drive while you are on vacation. :p Good tank and close to PR distance in the middle of winter as well. Whoot!
Andrew, sounds like you should drop something off at the old house every day.

Jason, if it was about the numbers alone, absolutely! :D

It was windy. The numbers tell which direction it was.

    Thanks Jason :D

Went to an outdoor shopping mall yesterday followed by lunch at a pub. Short hop to a nearby supermarket for some groceries then home. There was a bit of a frost overnight but my car was in garage so no scraping :D. Warmed up a bit coming back 45°FC, 10mph crosswind W:

    46.9 / 17.6
    32.0 / 0.6
    43.1 / 17.6

I spoke too soon - slept in this morning for first time in 21 years  so told car pooler to go ahead on his own, 37°F, 7mph headwind W. Bit of a queue on motorway to the slip road then hit another bigger queue coming in to the city, what a difference 25 minutes later made to the volume of traffic. Anyway made it to work for 07:50 so wasn't late :

    45.6 / 21.8

    Tank up 2.4 at 44.2 / 65.7 / Range 550. Guess gauge: F««««|««««E . UG steady at 43.3 / DTE519

Today , 17 deg F , wind NW 12 . All local roads were covered with snow ; some of the Interstate, too. 34.4 miles , 55.2*.93 = 51.34 MPG. Tank is at 132.6 miles , 58.4 * .93 = 54.31 MPG. Over the next five days , we are looking at a high temp of 27 deg F.

This was supposed to be for Tuesday. Not sure why it didn't post then.

Today ( Wednesday ) 9 deg F , wind NW 10 mph ( headwind). 34.4 miles , 56.0 *.93 = 52.08 MPG. Tank is at 200.5 miles , 57.5 * .93 = 53.47 MPG. We've had more than our share of cold here , with plenty of winter left. Not a huge amount of snow ( yet). I suspect Mother Nature is saving a nice surprise for us.

Nice and 'Brisk' Edwin. I love it when it gets so cold that the coat starts sounding like stiff plastic trying to bend and break. :D

Going home last night on my own, 41°F, 6mph tailwind W, detour #2, traffic not too bad as schools are off for a half-term vacation:

    43.8 / 19.0

    Total for Wednesday commute: 44.7 / 40.8mi

    Tank down 0.1 at 44.1 / 84.7 / Range 540. Guess gauge: F««««|««««E . UG up 0.2 at 43.5 / DTE503

Back to not driving this morning, alarm went off at proper time so got lift in with car pooler!

    Today , 7 deg F , wind NNW 8 MPH. 34.4 miles , 56.1 *.93 = 52.17 MPG. Tank is at 269.1 miles , 57.6 * .93 = 53.57 MPG. Up one tenth MPG since yesterday ! Jeez. It's not worth celebrating about, I know.
Today , going to the pub for first time in three weeks ; the scenic route applies here and should help this tank a wee bit. If the wind doesn't shift ( it does quite often ) , it should help me on the way there.

7F! That's not an easy temperature for the empeegees.

We warmed up into the 50's here.
    52.5 / 5.3 - home
    54.7 / 8.2 - school and work this morning

    Tank steady (how?!) at 50.7 / 437.

My gas gauge never came back, so I filled up early to be safe.

    323.8/5.906 gal = 54.8 mpg

Gas was $1.41, so I payed about $8 for this :D

Temps have been 45-70, and only one day of strong headwind. Big PR for me. P&G on the highway portion of the commute obviously payed off in a bump from 48 to ~55. I'd like to think 60 is in reach, but probably not unless I do things I don't really want to do, like drop my speed or jack up my tire pressure.

Nice work, tyler. Strange about your gas gauge.

It was warm here in Texas. Nearly 70 going home, down to 50 overnight.
    54.7 / 5.3 - home
    55.3 / 4.7 - out to music practice
    50.0 / 1.4 - store
    53.9 / 4.8 - home
    56.2 / 8.4 - school and work this morning

    Tank is up 0.3 to 51.0 / 462 mi.

We had a frost this morning 32°F but I wasn't driving. Only half a day at work on a Friday so took opportunity to go for a bike ride - 36.9 miles, averaged 15.9mph and zero empeegees :p
Temp was 41°F and sunny so not too bad. Have a great weekend everyone :D
Hope you enjoyed the pub Edwin ;)
    Well done tyler :)
Nice numbers for short trips Andrew

This didn't post yesterday, even through it was on the page before I left the site.
7F would put me in the upper 30's or lower 40's depending on wind so 50+ is good in my book for that temp.

Andrew prob went from 50.79 to 50.71. Love the accuracy in the significant decimal places.

Gord, love it when alarms work as they should

    last night:
