I wish they could sell this car today. Yeah , I know it doesn't have all the "safety" of newer cars , but I drove many hundreds of thousands of miles in cars without airbags or ABS , and by some miracle, I'm still alive. The closest you can get to this car (here in NA) today would be the Chevy Spark , or the upcoming Mitsu Mirage.

Yeah that is for sure. I had never heard about the new Mitsu though, I will have to keep my eyes open for that one. Thanks for checking out the auction

Curious as to why you didn't fix the brake problem?:confused: Seems like it would be a pretty easy fix.

It is an easy fix, they are actually ~$25 or so on rockauto. But the brake line is not the only thing keeping me from driving it full time. There is also the alignment toe-in issue I talked about on the auction, which has been working the front tires down. Tires are $50 a pop on TireRack. And I don't have the equipment to do an Alignment so that is also a mechanic bill.
That still doesn't seem too expensive to most people more than likely, but I am on a 1 income home salary and my wife and I have already taken out a loan to buy our new car. In all honesty, one of the things that has been stalling me is the fact that (even if I get it fixed) it just wouldn't work for our family at this time because we have 2 young children in car seats. So I was going to work on it slowly (I had many more plans other than just getting it all fixed up) and break it back out after the kids are a bit older. Unfortunately, bills speak louder than hopes and dreams.
Thanks for your interest though. Believe me, it burns me more than you know that I have to get rid of it.

    Well
I get the hard times financially
Hope you get a good price.
Of course you know it would go for a LOT MORE
if it could be driven away.
Hope you get a good price-make sure you have a decent reserve.
Running driving it might be worth $3000-even $5000 or so
Hope you do OK on it.

Thanks Charlie. I didn't set any reserve though, I am fine if it goes at the price it is at now. I feel like reserve prices force people to have to bid higher than they may actually value the car. In past experience this has a higher rate of non-paying bidders. If a bid is not forced, and a person can bid what they want, there is much less of a chance they will be unhappy, and then they will be more likely to pay.

    Good point.
If you find the right buyer-mechanically inclined hyper miler who lives reasonably close to you-you can do OK
    Luck
