Diesel less than Regular Unleaded in LA - 03/02/2013

    Hi All:

    Finally!

    Diesel is $0.02 less than regular unleaded in LA at this shell station as of today, 03/02/2013.

    I'me not a big oil burner fan but B 100 is $ 3.59 here in Houston (it's not straight vegetable oil)

    VW will void the warranty of users of B-10 through B-100
    Reason, the DPF cleaning shot does not fully atomize, sticks to cylinder walls and gets scraped off into the crankase.
    This dilutes the oil & causes early engine failure (or so I hear)

    Gas was down a bit here-$3.63 vs $3.69 last week-NOLA

    At the Shell Station near me 87 is $4.25 and diesel is $4.30.

    Price gap has narrowed a lot here in IL too. Normally the prices swap places when the summer blend gas hits the Chicago area.

    Now it went down to 87 is $4.23 and diesel is $4.25

    In Iowa, the gap was around 80 cents per gallon around holiday time. It has since narrowed to around 35-40 cents, but that's still $6 more for an average fill-up.

    That's bio so it's exempt from state fuel tax or it would be much higher.
