Herm But the problem is-we-USA citizens-will NEVER let kids or babies starve. Mama and mamas to be-KNOW that. The idea-is to give JUST enough to survive-no extras-food clothing shelter-transportation to school-but nothing extra-no TV no smart phones no booze But since you second amendment types INSIST on having 300,000,000 guns available pofolks WON'T ACCEPT their lot-without a fight. This is why the folks who are pulling YOUR STRINGS- favor gun control-so they can eventually cut entitlements-and afford that cottage in the Hamptons-villa in south of France-and chalet in Aspen-and $5,000,000 apt at some fancy NYNY address. Do you really want to deny them that?? After all they did in 2008-job creating and all??
Man stabs 14 people in Texas and no one shoots him http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...students-took-crazed-man-knifed-FOURTEEN.html Three students bravely subdued a classmate who went on a stabbing frenzy at a Houston community college today - and then promptly posted pictured of their heroism online. The knife-man now charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon is Dylan Quick, 20, a fellow student suspected of knifing 14 people this morning at Lone Star College's Cypress campus. Steven Maida, Erik Bertrand, Ryan Ballard and another student named James managed to wrestle the armed man to the floor and waited for law enforcement to arrive, KHOU.com reported. And in a very modern take on heroism, Maida posted a picture of the suspect onto his Instagram account, explaining how he ran to intercept him as the stabbings began and then an hour later posted a congratulatory self-portrait of himself inside a police car after his bold act.
FBI Conducting 32 Gun Purchase Background Checks Per Minute Under Obama Gregory-Gwyn-Williams-Jr/FBI-conducting-32-gun-purchase-background-checks-minute-under-obama
The News-Implied that a background check deal is going to happen. Looks like some of the Reps kinda back down when President brought in the parents of those kids. Of course-those parents can't live in the chambers-so we'll see. the deal-sounds like it would only really change the way private sellers could operate at gun shows-nothing else If I brought a pistol/rifle to a show to sell-which I have-recently in fact- I would have to somehow background check my buyer. It would KILL those sales-since the folks buying those guns- DON'T WANT to be brought to GOV attention Not because they are criminals(but who knows) but just don't want the GOV to know they have a gun Fair enough reason- I don't want the GOV to know either But I would prefer NONE of you own guns- JUST ME!
You should check the drivers license of anyone you sell a gun to.. and write it down, where the hell did I put that piece of paper?
Herm Yeah years and years ago-I would write down a bill of sale tossed that stuff years ago. The pitiful attempt at mass murder with a knife-really hurts the dumber pro gun folks argument. It pretty much puts paid to the "if you want to you can kill just as many people with a knife or hammer or baseball bat" And by extention-the "a 10 rd mag is just as deadly as a 30 rd mag" Duh But those were always stupid brain dead arguments. Usually better to stick with the truth "I want to ability to defend myself-and if it means 10,000 strangers per year will be killed with guns-I'm OK with that-2nd amendment says I can be firearmed armed" The "2nd amendment was meant to aloow citizens to protect themselves from their GOV" also terrible argument-ESPECIALLY if it is actually correct. There is ZERO sympathy for that argument(from all but maybe 5,000,000 or so folks) Now the 2nd Amend-doesn't say FIREARMS does it?? Says arms??Folks were still getting Bayonetted?? Crossbowed Bow arrow shot-stabbed with swords. Reasonable to assume it meant firearms-but.. Gotta think they were more concerned with putting down slave revolts than staging another revolt?? But.... you guys sound like you know what you are talking about- maybe they thought-if we are armed as well as the GOV-the GOV will act "right" and not try to seize my property(meaning slaves in the case of the writers of constitition) Yeah-2nd amendment-it will change in meaning.
They actually meant weapons usable by the military: swords, bayonets, flintlock rifles, airguns and cannons. The right to self defense is an innate right and not mentioned in the Constitution because its obvious (Your right to breathe shall not be infringed). When the State Gov. calls up the militia you cant have a rabble show up armed with slingshots. In Mexico they show up with 22 rimfires because thats all they have
CDNN- Bushmasters for as low as $999-maybe $300 more than before the school murders-so prices STILL dropping despite continued noise. Buddy tells me ammo is still scarce-expensive
Herm I'll jump in -the Colt probably went for $900 The least Expensive Bushmaster or other "not Colt" went for as little as $700-just $100 or so more than Mini 14 AR's-back when-1980's were 2x Mini 14's. They are still 1.33x 1.5x pre school murders price- Probably peaked at 3X soon after murders
My Dad should have sold his AR when prices were good and jumped back in afterwards. Although the market for one in 6,8mm SPC is probably small. I myself would like the cheapie I saw at Walmart - .22 LR Colt/Unarex M4 for around $200. Fun for plinking. I love .22s (who doesn't?). There's not much interchangeable with a "real" AR, but ergos are nearly identical and should be a lot of fun. Apparently it will even chamber CCI Stingers, which I have in abundance, and which would NOT feed in the TEC-22 I used to have.
My guess is prices will go up in the wake of Boston. News folks are pointing in both directions MSNBC implying anti GOV FOX saying Al Quaida Pure guesses of course. Anti GOV folks usually aim for COPS FEDS etc Not pure civilian targets. It looks Al Quaida like to me-two bombs-pure soft high profile targets. We'll see I guess.
http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/294571-senate-rejects-tougher-background-checks-on-gun-purchases Senate rejects background checks on gun purchases in 54-46 vote "The Senate delivered a devastating blow to President Obama’s agenda to regulate guns Wednesday by defeating a bipartisan proposal to expand background checks. It failed by a vote of 54 to 46, with five Democrats voting against it. Only four Republicans supported it. Democratic Sens. Mark Pryor (Ark.), Max Baucus (Mont.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Mark Begich (Alaska) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) voted against it. Reid supported the measure but voted against it to preserve his ability to bring the measure up again. GOP Sens. John McCain (Ariz.), Susan Collins (Maine), Pat Toomey (Pa.) and Mark Kirk (Ill.) voted "yes." "
CDNN -$950 for AR types-about the time of Boston-not sure what it is now No movement on other things mags etc Bill is DOA means that is it for now-not even background checks. NRA still a very potent force. Pretty sure my usual side-leftish-is wrong about the NRA being primarily shills for Gun Manufacturers. I think their aim is just what they claim it is They think-know-that gun control folks DON'T want citizens to be armed with guns. Heck why would I want my fellow citizens-many fools idiots violent boozers tweakers to be well armed?? So they don't believe for a second the "we don't object to responsible gun ownership" They want us to be like Europe Canada Australia And yes I DO think strict gun control would eventually lead to fewer gun deaths-murders suicides But I don't care much about the deaths of strangers. I want to be able to defend myself Gun confiscation won't benefit me- and I certainly don't care that it will benefit strangers 30 years from now-when I'm dead. As the pro gun folks emphasize-criminal types-won't turn their guns in. Solid citizens will. Eventually draining solid citizens of their guns-will disarm criminals-but that would take 20-50 years-who knows. Yeah-the anti gun folks-LIE-about what they actually want-and they think the pro gun hicks morons mouth breathers are too stupid to know they are lying?! Shoot-if I could be the only private citizen who was armed-you would ALL be disarmed!! Yeah-I could go for that-you guys get pellet rifles bows crossbows-I get the guns!! I respect the-confiscate all guns folks-but not the "-we actually like guns-buy a shotgun and shoot it in the air to defend yourself folks" Yeah-most of my fellow citizens should not be fire-armed-just me!! 2nd amendment should be for me-not you yahoos!! Big Aside-Texas another HUGE explosion-like the Texas City harbor explosion(post war??)-but less devastating of course!! Oh- WEST ,Texas is near DFW- thought they meant west Texas.
Thirty round steel magazines are down to $19.95. They were selling in the $14.99-$15.99 area before Newtown. Ammunition still getting sucked up by the Hoarders the minute it hits the shelf.
common ALS, you are a hoarder also, what the heck do you need with 15 bricks of 22LR? A friend noticed Bushmasters AR15 back again into the $900 range at the local gunshops.
I've still got at least 30 bricks of CCI Stinger. $160 bought me a TEC22 with around 55 bricks of the ammo. It's longer than most .22 LR, and I figured out why the sold the gun - that Stinger ammo jammed at least two rounds out of every mag. Even in my little Savage .22 bolt action plinker, I have noticed that the first three rounds or so out of a full mag are hard to feed. Both run just fine all day long with regular .22LR. Of course Stingers work just fine in my sixgun, which is my favourite .22 I have anyway. Shoots them damn accurately too.
Yep, looks like the current situation will persist. This is like making it illegal for minors to buy alcohol in licensed liquor stores ... but perfectly legal for an adult to buy alcohol in the store and then turn around and sell the alcohol to a minor in a private transaction. And the proposed solution is to start prosecuting more of the minors who try to buy alcohol in liquor stores.
