OK, I talked the Agent (aka Wife) into trying to sell her car, a 2011 Regal. But in the deal I agreed to list the Scion too. It goes down like this: We list them both for sale. -If the Regal sells first, we pull the ad for the Scion and she drives it for a year as her car and I use it one day a week for my drive and any errands I need to do. - If the Scion sells first, we still try to sell the Regal and get her into a much cheaper car. ( I can see this backfiring, sell the Scion first and she changes her mind on selling the regal and we keep it. Oh well). I hope the regal sells first. BOTH are clean, well cared for cars with nothing but normal use/wear. We are NOT going bankrupt or in danger of getting repo'ed so will not entertain low ball offers Here's the specs on the Scion: pics will be added soon. 2011 Scion xB,2.4L, 5 speed mt. I'd never part with my Regal. I've had it for 22 years, and it was 10 years old when I got it. It rides like an overstuffed couch.
That puts it around a 1980? I had one right around that year. Had a 1968 chevy 350/4bl in it. Bought it not running right. Got the timing set right and the carb right. Sold it shortly there after. Figured I would lose my license if I kept it. Even as a teenager I had a breif moment of common sense once in a while
There will be a LOT more interest in the Scion. The Regal- it is a Grandpa car. The lower gas prices will help the Buick-despite huge mpg gains GM has made-Toyota is still viewed-incorrectly-as being waaaay ahead. So if gas was spiking the interest would be ALL Scion-since it isn't maybe some grandpa will buy your Buick!! Just joking-lotta 30 somethings don't view Buick as Paw Paw cars Still-I bet the Scion will go before the Buick- better slick your wife overprice the Scion But I bet you are already doing that!!
The scion will go first because I am living up to my end of the deal. The Agent hasn't even gathered her window sticker and payoff amount for me to make an ad. Got the scion on 2 scion forums and CL and parking it at the shop, a corner lot at a 4 way stop sign, with for sale signs. It is odd that both the regal and xB have 2.4L 4 cyl engines and are both rated at 22/28 iirc. That six speed in the regal does better than 28 pretty easily. More pics.
So you are playing it straight? Well as you say- say bye to the Scion. On the bright side-Buicks are nice riding comfortable cars-always were- "almost a Caddy" without the CADDY price.
ok, My sale is on hold for a bit. Got a couple minor bugs I want to get taken care of quickly. Nothing serious, but its still well within the factory 3/36 warranty so I called the dealer and made an appointment a couple weeks out. Dealer is about 45 minute drive one way. Made the appointment a week and a half out hoping they will get it in and out in the same day, otherwise I have to take the greyhoud/amtrak home. Or rent a car. The Agent has rounded up her car info for me. I will put an ad online for her Regal and put some effort into selling it because I relly want it to go first and keep the xB. Thinking on Autotrader for the 30 day listing. Anyone have any thoughts on autotrader, or a better way?
