I'm looking to hire someone to install my 8KWhr Enginer kit in my 2007 Prius. I just got a job a mile from home and this would be a perfect route for this set up.
Hi Larry: Why not drive up to Jack's place near Detroit and have him install it? You are not that far away and since he created the system, he is probably the best person on the planet to have an install performed by! With your new job just 1-mile from work, why did you choose the 8kWh kit vs. the standard 2 kWh one? Good Luck with the install! Wayne
That is an interesting idea about going to Jack. With the job now, I may have to see if I could drive up on a weekend and drop it off and come back when he finishes. The biggest reason for the 8kWh kit was that it should be big enough to get me (with a heavy P & G routine) pretty much anywhere I usually go on most, if not all, electric. I also purchased the kit before I knew my new job would be so close to home
Congrats on the job Larry! With such a close job, I'd be very tempted to walk or bicycle there and back. Even the best PHEV will still cost more than human power
At 1 mile each way, it probably would take that long to deplete the pack. That is correct Andrew. Once I got the kit, I realized that it was a bit more time consuming than I thought especially when combined with job hunting. Now that I have a job, I definitely won't have time for an install. Darn Catch 22 things.
