    The podcasts are pretty good.

    Just a little constructive criticism.

Looks like the aspect ratio is a little off. Looks like it was recorded in 16:9 and squashed to 4:3. Keep it in 16:9 and it will look better.

It was but then our friends using iTunes and iPod had unplayable files (despite using the iPod/iTunes setting in my program).

I tried the output from an older version of the camera I want to get next and everything worked perfectly. I plan to get a camera that is more compatible with editing software than my current one before we do any more videos, other than #5.

Thanks for the feedback, and for watching/listening.

What software should I download to watch an mp4 on my PC?

Download the k-lite codec pack. It will allow you to play just about everything. You dnot need to install any of the media players from the pack unless you want them.

Downloaded K-lite codec pack (basic) and mediaspace. Still cannot seem to open the mp4. Sorry to be such a neanderthal...

It tries to direct to windows media player which cannot deal with the format. I try open with..., but cannot see any of the things I downloaded as options.

    Missing a step.

Nevermind, I got the file open in mediaspace. Don't know what wasn't working before, since I didn't do anything else to it...

If you did not restart the computer after installing you may want to try that. K-lite should decode the MP4 unless the MP4 container hase some other video codec. I'm not at my home PC to check it. You may want to try installing the full k-lite just to be sure.

...but very small! I kept looking for a way to go "HD" with it...

The sever system we're hosting with there doesn't give us the space we need to go HD until we get some cash flow, it does allow us to never go down on account of traffic (the way a single server would) and allows loads of bandwidth, the video I nicknamed MEGA downloaded in about a minute at home and took 30 to upload on a decent corporate connection.

When the shows were in "iPod Format" they were SD same as the TV I grew up with, but when I went with the "Sony PSP Format" they turned to postage stamps. When we are planning for our next set of videos I'll have a new HD camera that works with my editing program fully and we'll hopefully either have enough donations or a big main sponsor to get the space to hold True HD.

The other issue is the folks who want to keep downloads small so they can listen to music after watching us, we'll probably set up a separate HD channel for those who prefer quality over space frugality.

Yes I know you just meant make it bigger when you put HD in quotes but I really want to do true HD soon.

Hey, I'm slouching here on the couch with my MacBook Pro - bring that HD on! :Banane21:

h.264 encoded 720P is plenty for the web. Actually if bandwidth is a concern 480P would be best. 1080P is just overkill for a simple podcast especially when your just starting out and don't have the bandwidth.
