Not Much Chrome & Metal These Days...

    Back in the 1970's there was a lot of chrome:
    • bumpers
    • hood ornament
    • side trim
    • wheels
    • door handles
    • tail pipes
    Getting rid of weight (and maybe apartheid) changed that. Fortunately the plastic bumpers don't fade these days.

    Plastic has replaced a lot of bumpers and dashboards. For the interior, it was mostly safety considerations.
