Soot build up

    Sounds OK to me. I think it is good to rev them from time to time, especially a diesel engine! Good luck, Hal

    2.9L/100k is great! The heavy right foot approach could be helping to keep your compression high which will give a small fuel economy benefit. The boost and pressure you're generating can help to keep the rings well seated to provide a good seal.
