    Hi folks,

I have a TTR250 that is obviously an offroad bike...but I'd like to convert to an on-road bike. It already has head lamp and brake light so I'd need to add signals and horn. My question is this: Since it's geared for off-road riding...is there a way to change out the sprockets to give me more top-end speed? I can do 50+ now in 5th gear...however, that's wide open and not efficient nor enjoyable. :) I need to be able to do 65 mph and hopefully at half throttle or there abouts.

    Ideas, suggestions?
    Thank you!!

Welcome! Yes you can definitely change out the gears. You'll want to put a bigger front sprocket and/or smaller rear sprocket. I have a Yamaha XT225, and to change out the front sprocket is very easy. You may want to check out a TTR250 specific forum or even thumpertalk.com. A quick search for "TTR250 front sprocket" came up with a lot of results. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
