I think I remember reading somewhere it's Canada or Australia, though that doesn't totally make sense to me. Both do have very low population densities, but also have their populations more concentrated in urban areas and have better mass transit systems. Anyway, I voted for Canada.

I found several of the gulf arab states (qatar, bahrain, kuwait) and several small nations (luxemborg, iceland) had higher per capita energy usage than anyone on this list. It was a toss-up between Canada and the USA for me. I went with Canada because the lower temperatures mean we will need more heat more often.
