Peugeot welcomed the President France?s announcement to encourage the replacement of vehicles 10 years old or older by way of a ?1,000 bonus ($1,392 USD at today?s currency exchange rate) going towards the purchase of a new vehicle with CO2 emissions of less than 160 g/km. This bonus is being offered by the government with the aim of withdrawing the country's oldest vehicles from circulation in an effort to reduce smog forming and CO2 emissions as well as helping the countries main automobile manufacturer, Peugeot.
