Insight-II is first Honda to come with all-new Eco Assist system

LA - Honda revealed a recently designed and interactive, driver-focused fuel economy enhancement technology called Ecological Drive Assist System (Eco Assist?) which will debut on the new Honda Insight in the spring of 2009. The driver-activated ECON mode optimizes control of the continuously variable transmission (CVT), engine and related powertrain components to conserve fuel. Also included is a range of driver feedback functions including one that uses speedometer background color to provide real-time guidance on environmentally responsible driving.
