Ride of the Week? My electric car story

I have always cared about the environment since I was old enough to understand its importance. I have to believe my parents had something to do with it as they excluded large Sedans, P/U trucks and later SUV?s for our daily needs. Back in the summer of 2001, some friends and I were hanging out and noticed an odd looking pickup truck parked about 100 feet away. As we walked closer, I noticed it said battery electric vehicle (BEV). The owner came out a later and we spoke with him about the vehicle. It turned out to be a 1981 Mazda-built Ford Courier converted to electric by Jet Industries.
