South African?s are taking Fuel Economy to a new level
On October 15th, a Peugeot 308 1.6L HDi turbo-diesel sedan with a 6-speed manual transmission set a new record in South Africa, traveling 1,050 miles on a single tank of fuel from one coast to another. As a result, the car finished the Coast2Coast Challenge starting in Kleinzee (on the west coast of South Africa, north of Cape Town), and finishing in the city of Umhlanga , Near Durban, on the east coast, with an average fuel consumption of 69.2 mpgUS.
