Marine and Lawn and Garden engine emission curtailment begins
The EPA is adopting new exhaust and evaporative emission standards for marine gasoline powered engines and small lawn and garden type engines below 25 HP. The standards will reduce the harmful health effects of ozone and carbon monoxide from these engines, equipment, and vessels. Besides Lawn and Garden engines, any gasoline powered engine rated below 25 horsepower used in household and commercial applications, including utility vehicles, generators, and a variety of other construction, farm, and industrial equipment will be required to meet the new emissions standards.
