The World premiere of the of the BMW Concept ?[b]Vision[/b]? with EfficientDynamics is further proof of BMW?s commitment to reducing GHG?s from their most popular vehicles. For the first time, a 4-cylinder diesel has been combined with BMW?s ActiveHybrid Technology in a large Sports Activity Vehicle. [b]Powertrain[/b] The platform is based on the BMW X5 with a 2.0L diesel engine equipped with Variable Vane Twin Turbo?s, a third generation common rail at just under 30,000 psi and an all-aluminum crankcase. With an output of 204 HP and 295 Ft-lb?s of torque between 2,000 and 2,250 rpm, it is the first consumer based diesel engine available with a specific power output of over 100 HP/L.
