Mercedes Freeside - Sportute w/ a 2.2L 4-cyl. diesel to be unveiled in Detr

Stuttgart / Detroit - Mercedes Benz today announced that they will be showing a new small diesel powered SUV that is actually close to real world production. In January 2008, this compact will make its world debut at the NAIAS (Detroit Auto Show), providing a vision of MB SUVs to come. The key to the vehicles environmental credentials will be its recently designed, fuel efficient and BLUETEC equipped four-cylinder diesel engine. Combined with a 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission and the new 4MATIC all-wheel drive, the Freeside will be a go anywhere, do anything small utility vehicle with the FE of a compact and the performance of a std. sedan.
