MATTOON, IL -- Enthusiasm sparked by the announcement that Mattoon will be home to the FutureGen power plant quickly spilled from the former Time Theater to the surrounding downtown Tuesday morning. Local officials and community members roared with applause when the FutureGen Alliance made the announcement during a live Internet videocast that was shown at the theater. ?I am ecstatic and so excited we are getting this,? said Mattoon resident Valerie Doughty, as she smiled ear to ear. ?I am not surprised.
