Solar company Nanosolar ships first panels

San Jose's Nanosolar Inc. said it shipped its first solar panel on Tuesday. The thin-film solar producer said it shipped panels to fulfill an order of a megawatt of panels for a power plant in eastern Germany. The order also accounts for the company's first product-based revenue, the company says. Nanosolar aims to sell solar for about a dollar per watt by reducing the manufacturing cots.
