A tale of two companies. Ford of Europe ? Sales are brisk. In the US, dread

COLOGNE ? A strong performance in November has put Ford of Europe on course for all-time record 2007 sales. Ford of Europe sold 149,600 cars and commercial vehicles in November 2007, an increase of 3.2 per cent over the same month last year. The European Ford Focus led the way with sales rising to more than 41,000 units, strongly supported by the Fiesta (offering upwards of 63 mpgUS), and the acclaimed all-new mid-sized Mondeo (offering upwards of 50 mpgUS). Showing its enduring appeal, the Fiesta sold 27,500 units, with the Fusion adding a further 9,850. Mondeo sales increased almost 55%, to 15,675 units.
