Auto industry scorns fuel efficient 'feebates'.
TORONTO -- Auto industry leaders took federal Industry Minister Maxime Bernier to task yesterday for the "feebate" scheme in the federal budget and warned him that they have deep concerns about a potential trade deal with South Korea. Those two key issues, which have angered auto makers in Canada, were raised behind closed doors at a meeting of the Canadian Automotive Partnership Council (CAPC), a joint industry-labour-government group set up in 2002 to study issues affecting auto makers.
