Hyundai: 10 Million Strong and Growing

U.S. Sales reach pinnacle in < 30-years. Earlier today Hyundai announced the company had breached what is being described as a monumental milestone when it sold its 10 millionth vehicle in the United States. Beginning in 1986 with a single nameplate called Excel, reaching 10 million sales is a significant achievement that showcases the success of Hyundai?s brand, products and ever expanding lineup. Hyundai entered the United States market in 1986 with the subcompact Excel ? anyone remember Rodney King? Within seven months, Hyundai sold its 100,000th Excel and in doing so set a U.S. industry record for the most first-year sales for an import car company. That same year Hyundai sold 168,882 Excels far exceeding even the most optimistic forecasts.
