Mercedes-Benz Sets New Turbo Diesel Pikes Peak Climb Record

The turbo diesel proves it is not just efficient? At this year?s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Mercedes-Benz set a new record for turbo diesel powered automobiles in a close to production C 250 d 4MATIC. The C 250 d completed the 12.4-mile-long climb beginning at 9,390 feet and concluding at the mountain's 14,110 summit while climbing an average 7 percent grade in just 11 minutes and 22 seconds. The 150 turns, switchbacks and steep grade put the C 250 d 4MATIC 's suspension and powertrain through its paces.
