Lawmakers go after hybrids.
It's standard form for lawmakers who meet top auto executives to talk about what cars they own and why. Judging by the comments at last week's congressional hearing on fuel-economy standards, Ford might want to send a dealer over to Capitol Hill. During Wednesday's Q&A, Rep. Mike Doyle, D-Pa., congratulated Toyota for building several hybrid models and praised his own Ford Escape Hybrid, pressing the other executives on why they didn't build more hybrid models.
