GM executive: Ethanol must be more available for flex-fuel use.
DES MOINES, Iowa -- The ethanol industry must work to make higher blends of the fuel more available as auto makers seek to increase production of flex-fuel vehicles, a General Motors Corp. executive said today. Mary Beth Stanek, GM's director of environmental and energy programs, said the automaker remains committed to flex-fuel technology but also is working on the development of electric hybrid and hydrogen fuel cell technology.
