H2 Availability - 8 currently in Southern Calif.

H2 is a promising alternative fuel, the vehicles to date and infrastructure is not inexpensive. The promise is energy density similar to the gasoline and diesel we use today allowing short refueling times. In early May the California Energy Commission announced it will invest $46.6 million to accelerate the development of publicly accessible H2 refueling stations in California for FCVs. The recommended awards include six 100 percent renewable H2 refueling stations with another 13 new locations in Northern California and 15 in Southern California planned. A mobile refueler will provide added reliability to the early hydrogen refueling network to provide refueling capability when stations are off-line.
