BMWs US Carbon Fiber Footprint Expanding Quickly

Moses Lake, WA carbon fiber plant to triple capacity. While automotive manufacturing continues to forge ahead with light weighting using Advanced High and Ultra High Strength Steels along with any number of aluminum alloys, only one has made this large an investment is Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP). That would be BMW. Late last week BMW announced that its SGL Automotive Carbon Fibers joint venture partner is going to triple the capacity of the carbon fiber plant in Moses Lake, WA due to the high automotive production demand.
