Monster El Nino May Be Brewing
Ready for a ?90s El Ni?o flashback? The Merced Irrigation District Depleted Reservoir. [i]The warm temperature band across the Pacific does not look good. Hopefully however, California will receive the rains it needs. Three consecutive dry years have left Lake McClure, Merced Irrigation District (MID)?s storage reservoir as shown, at historic lows. As a result, MID growers will likely receive mere inches of water this year, rather than feet. Researchers are keeping a close eye on a giant pool of abnormally warm water in the Pacific Ocean that some think could trigger another El Ni?o of epic proportions if it rises to the surface, sending weather patterns into a tizzy around the world.
