Redesigned 2007 Toyota Camry ? Motor Trends Car of the Year is on track to surpass 450,000 units sold. The first time a sedan has sold that many units in a given model year since the Chevrolet Impala achieved that target back in 1978. The auto industry is on track to end the calendar year much it has spent the rest of 2006: in a slump and observing the stark contrast between the ongoing success of Toyota on the one hand, and the still-plummeting sales and market share of the Detroit Three on the other.
