Honda?s New Compact CUV for Japanese Consumption Uses i-DCD in AWD Form
Late last year Honda began sales in its compact CUV called the Vezel in Japan. Ok, big deal. Except it is using the single motor i-DCD system and is available as an AWD variant with it. From outside, it appears too based on the Fit platform which makes perfect sense given the center tank layout, 1.5L drivetrain, and magic seats interior utility. The cargo area is said to be 16.0 cu. ft., which is a tad smaller than the 20.6 cu. ft. spec?ed for the 2015 Fit in the US although Japan does not measure passenger and cargo volume in the same way the EPA requires here. The hybrid variant will be equipped with direct injected 1.5L SPORT HYBRID i-DCD engine and hybrid system right out of the Fit Hybrid that is also currently available in Japan.
