Ford Obstacle Avoidance Research Project

New semi-automated prototype obstacle avoidance is but one piece of the puzzle on our way to the future of fully automated driving. Ford demonstrated a test car equipped with the company?s latest obstacle avoidance technology that automatically brakes AND steers in order to move the vehicle away from traffic if the driver fails to steer or brake following driver warnings. The prototype tech represents another milestone in Ford?s Blueprint for Mobility, which envisions a future of automated functionality and advanced technologies that will improve safety, reduce congestion, and massively reduce consumption.
