US Heading In the Right Direction on the CO2 Emissions Front
EIA: CO2 Emissions are at their lowest level since 1994 and over 12 percent below the recent 2007 peak. While the US is still the most energy and emissions intensive country on the planet, it is slowly heading in the right direction. The EIA today released its annual U.S. Energy-Related Carbon Dioxide Emissions for 2012 and there were a number of surprises including the fact that both residential and transportation emissions contributing to 2.4 percent reduction in energy consumption even though the US? GDP grew by just 2.8 percent in 2012.
