Opel's DI and Turbocharged 1.0L I3 and 6-spd. MT Set for Frankfurt Reveal

According to GM Europe, their all-new 1.0L three-cylinder?s world premiere will occur at the Frankfurt International Auto Show in September. The Opel 1.0L turbo gasoline engine represents a new benchmark for refinement in three-cylinder engines, with noise and vibration characteristics superior to many current I4s. Developing a respectable 115 hp and 122 lb-ft. of torque, the Direct Injected and turbo charged 1.0L generates more torque than many higher displacement engines while providing owners with a 20 percent improvement in fuel economy by comparison to the company?s current naturally aspirated 1.6L I4.
