Toyota?s Low Carbon City Receives a Micro BEV Charging Station with a Twist

Cute little all-electrics make sense in a lot of places. ?Ecoful Town? is one of those. Toyota has installed a Smart Mobility Park BEV sharing and electric mobility charging station at Toyota Ecoful Town, its low-carbon society model district located in Toyota City. Here is the real twist. The Smart Mobility Park generates and stores electrical power. The station is based on the Toyota Smart Mobility Park concept unveiled at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show and features two key aspects. The station functions as a hub for electric mobility vehicle sharing for short distance travel and is planned for use as a Ha:mo Ride station beginning this fall. Ha:mo Ride is an electric mobility sharing service for short distances such as the last few miles from the nearest public transportation point to a final destination. Ha:mo is short for Harmonious Mobility Network, expressing "Mobility harmonizing people and cities.?
