5 Million Toyota Hybrids and Counting

From the lowly 1997 Prius Gen I first sold in Japan to the very latest 2013 Prius PHEV-11, Avalon Hybrid and Lexus ES300h sold today, there have been a lot of satisfied Toyota and Lexus Hybrid owners in-between. According to Toyota, nearly 2 million (1,951,243) Toyota and Lexus hybrid vehicle owners in the US alone! In addition, Toyota has sold a cumulative 5 million hybrid vehicles worldwide since that first Gen I Prius was sold. Toyota estimates that Toyota and Lexus hybrid owners have saved more than 3 billion gallons of gasoline compared to gasoline-only powered vehicles.
