Ford?s US 2.0L EcoBoost Supply Moves from Spain to the US

?Build em where they buy em? is the latest business model at work. To meet US demand for the 2.0L EcoBoost I4 engine, Ford says it will invest nearly $200 million and add 450 new jobs to its Cleveland Engine Plant. Currently the plant builds the 3.5L EcoBoost (more than 500,000 since 2009) and naturally aspirated 3.7L V6. The 450 will be added to the almost 1,300 currently employed on site. The Cleveland Engine Plant opened in 1955 and was the first Ford manufacturing facility in the world to produce an EcoBoost engine. To prepare for that production, the workforce participated in intensive quality training.
