February?s Forecast is Cold and Sno? Oh Wait. Car Sales Are Expected To Be
J.D. Power and LMC expect February 2013 sales to be up 7% over February of 2012. The US Automobile Seasonally Adjusted Annual Rate of Sales (SAAR) is based on the fact that most auto makers experience stronger sales during the second quarter (April to June time frame), and sales tend to be slower between November and January. Therefore it is important to compare sales figures to the same period of the previous year. The SAAR new-vehicle selling rate in February remains above 15 million vehicles and is forecast to be up as much as 7% over February of 2011 thanks to the continuing economic recovery according to J.D. Power and Associates' Power Information Network (PIN) and LMC Automotive.
