Toyota Expands in Brazil - New Facility to Make the Etios

A locally produced Yaris that should prove to be as durable as it is inexpensive. The Etios was originally developed for India and is based off the Yaris. When developing the Etios, Toyota aimed for a high local-procurement rate of parts to create a vehicle with strong ties to the Indian market. It was soon being exported to South America. With currency fluctuations what they are nowadays and the large and yet under represented Brazilian market, Toyota moved quickly to establish a world class manufacturing facility within the country.
