Sao Paulo Places LEAF BEVs into Taxi Pilot Program

The project will see 10 LEAFs setup for taxi based transportation in the largest city in Brazil. 2012 Nissan LEAF - $35,200 to start, a 99 MPGe combined rating per the EPA and a 73 mile all-electric range on a full charge. It is the 2012 Leaf SVs $289 a month that sounds the most enticing however ;) Nissan detailed a new sustainability mobility project for earlier this week with the city of Sao Paulo along with the Renault-Nissan Alliance, AES Eletropaulo and Adetax (Association of Taxi Fleet of Sao Paulo) to create a pilot program that will evaluate the viability of having battery electric vehicles operating as taxis within the city.
