Even Airbag Modules Will Soon Be Less Carbon Intensive

More interior plastic components derived from bio-based materials are on their way. TRW, a multinational automobile supplier conglomerate with 2011 sales of $16.2 billion, has developed a range of driver airbag modules made of recyclable plastic material providing a number of environmental and financial benefits. They are the first to develop a new, airbag inflator module including the airbag cover and retainer plate made from a bio-based material.
