Audi?s High Performance Group Brings Hybrids into the Fold Two of Audi?s four LMP1 cars with be hybrid assisted for the 80th running of the 24 Hours of LeMans. This year, Audi is bringing something completely new and quite extraordinary to the racing scene as it attempts to take yet another checkered flag at the 80th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans this coming June 16?17. What is the big secret? Two of the four cars will be equipped with an honest to goodness hybrid drive mated to what we hope is the already ultra powerful and durable 3.7L V6 TDI from the R18?s for the very first time.
