Available beginning in March at $61,845 which includes the $895 destination and handling, the all-new 5-series full hybrid with its 8-speed AT includes a preliminary EPA of a possible 31 mpgUS combined. This is me speculating based off the conventionally powered 535i?s 25 mpgUS combined rating from the same 3.0L I6. BMW?s ActiveHybrid 5 brings together a BMW TwinPower Turbo I6, an electric drive system and an 8-speed automatic for the first time. All of which gives the BMW ActiveHybrid 5 an exceptional balance of performance (335 combined HP allowing 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds) and fuel efficiency (hopefully 30 mpgUS combined?) for the premium sedan.
